 Our Story

Portage Scouting has been a cornerstone of the Portage, Wisconsin community for over 80 years. 

Chartered through Portage Presbyterian Church and affiliated with the Glacier’s Edge Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 70 has inspired young men and women to become leaders, make a difference, and live by the Scout Oath and Law.

A Tradition of Leadership and Service

Since its founding, Troop 70 has focused on developing strong, independent, and community-minded leaders. Over the years, our scouts have:

• Tackled challenging outdoor adventures, including high-adventure camps, hiking, canoeing, and survival skills.

• Earned merit badges in a wide range of disciplines, from citizenship and environmental science to technology and first aid.

• Led service projects that have made a positive impact in Portage, from building community resources to assisting local organizations in need.
  
  

The Troop’s success is built on the dedication of our leaders, volunteers, and families—working together to create experiences that shape not only the scouts but also the community they serve.
